FAPESP/CONFAP/Horizon Europe

Researchers from São Paulo can submit proposals to collaborate as co-leaders of projects selected and supported by Horizon Europe.

FAPESP has opened a new opportunity for researchers from São Paulo to request participation as responsible co-researchers (Co-PI, in English Co-Principal Investigators) in proposals drawn up in response to calls from Horizon Europe, the scientific research initiative of the European Commission.

Horizon Europe calls for proposals can be found at on the website Funding & tender opportunities.

Scientists linked to research and higher education institutions in the State of São Paulo will be able to submit proposals at any time, through SAGe. The call, however, requires proponents to carry out an eligibility consultation with FAPESP.

For this call, candidates will be able to submit proposals to FAPESP in accordance with the rules and conditions of three types of FAPESP support – Regular Research Grant, Thematic Project or Young Researcher.

Only proposals will be accepted that make it clear that the Co-PI in São Paulo has a relevant participation in the complete research project submitted to Horizon Europe and that it will lead a relevant part of the research effort, as work package leader and/or of tasks, or with fundamental participation in carrying out specific activities described in the Horizon Europe proposal.

To evaluate the submitted proposal, FAPESP will follow the standard procedures for analyzing and selecting research proposals in accordance with the standards of the chosen modality. The proposal, however, will be financed by FAPESP only if it is also approved by Horizon Europe.
