Fifth Meeting with Research TAs

This time, the meeting addressed international agreements and legal aspects of processing agreements.

The processing of international agreements and agreements and the main legal aspects of the processing of agreements were topics of the fifth Meeting with Research TAs promoted by the PRP Grant Office. The meeting took place last Friday (20) and, this time, it was attended by the Executive Directorate of International Relations (DERI) and the Attorney General's Office (PG), bodies of central importance to the University.

Angélica Torresin (DERI), in his presentation, highlighted the importance of formalizing international collaborations, which often already take place between researchers from Unicamp and institutions abroad, and which are no longer known and supported by the University. The formalization of cooperation is of particular importance for the internationalization of Unicamp, contributing to the establishment of mobility policies, participation in national and international notices that require the existence of an agreement between the parties and the improvement of performance indicators and international comparisons and position of the University in the rankings.

The context in which the signing of agreements is part of the University, the role of the different instances in the processing of agreements and the legal system to which Unicamp is subject, as a public administration body, were matters of concern. PG presentation. Among other points in her speech, attorney Veridiana Porto recalled that while the private administrator can do anything that is not prohibited by law, the public administrator can only do what is expressly provided for in the law, with legality being the main precept guiding acts carried out by the University. She highlighted that the establishment of contracts and agreements is the way in which the University can relate to third parties, not being an option, but a necessity.

The presentations were followed by a section of questions open to the public present, which enriched and expanded the discussions on the points presented and had expanded answers from the chief prosecutor Fernanda Costallat, the general secretary of the university, Angela Bignami and the special advisor of the Grant Office, Marilda Bottesi.

The Integration Meetings with Research TAs are held by the PRP Grant Office and aim to provide a forum for training, discussion and exchange of experience between colleagues and specialists from UNICAMP, and other institutions, for the benefit of promoting effective support to University researchers.
