“State University of Campinas (UNICAMP)”

From now on, UNICAMP must be cited in Portuguese, even in international publications and vehicles.

The new rule, approved by CONSU, applies to any and all forms of identification of the University, in articles and other publications, presentations at congresses, websites and other physical or digital means of dissemination, national or international.

The identification of UNICAMP, in the new established standard, is the primary and priority form of affiliation of authors to the University and will take precedence over any other complementary identification, that is, it must come first, preceding the name of the faculty or institute, the identification of the center/nucleus or any other hierarchically lower division.

The measure, suggested by the UNICAMP Library System (SBU) and proposed to CONSU by the Central Research Commission (CCP), updates the way the University is identified based on international trends and recommendations recommended by registration agencies for organizations, having been adopted by several other Brazilian universities.

With the measure, it is expected that:

  • UNICAMP authors are adequately oriented on the correct form of institutional affiliation;
  • Enable the correct attribution of articles and works to UNICAMP authors;
  • Enables the tracking and retrieval of more complete data related to the academic productions of UNICAMP authors, avoiding fragmented information and results;
  • Allows consistent and robust bibliometric analyzes to be carried out based on reliable data;
  • Facilitate data capture by international university rankings related to the University's productions.
